I vividly remember how I used to achieve my goals by writing them down on sticky notes and posting them everywhere. I was constantly reminding myself to work towards my goals. This method has worked well for me for many years and I was able to accomplish a lot of my goals. Recently, I’ve discovered a new way to help me achieve my goals since the old method no longer works for me. The new method is called a vision map. It is a visual collage depicting how you see yourself in the future. It is similar to a strategic plan that businesses have. But it can also be applied in your personal life. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
4 STEPS TO CREATING A VISION MAP
1. Start with what you want.
What do you want out of life? Do you want to be a successful entrepreneur? Do you want to be physically fit?
To create a compelling vision map, you must get clear on what you want.
What are some of your New Year’s resolutions?
Is it to travel more, be more active, or learn a new talent?
Studies show that photographs can serve as memory storage and, when viewed, can activate memory recall.
So print out your resolutions, put them on your walls and seeing them every day will reinforce your will to achieve them.
No more excuses, print and display your travel destinations or whatever motivates you to accomplish your 2020 resolutions!
2. Find images of things that you want and turn them into Phototile®
Do you want to travel more? You need to be more specific. Where would you like to go? Is it Paris? Is it the Maldives? If it’s the Maldives, turn them into Phototile® Photo Tiles and stick them where you could see every day.
3. Create a visual collage that inspires and excites you.
Your vision map should get you so excited about your future that you can’t sit still. It will push you to work harder, longer, and faster with clearer intent.
Regardless of what they are, print them out and put them where you can see every day. This will reinforce your brain and subconsciously you will start working towards it without you even knowing.
4. Put your Photo Tiles in places that you see every day.
This is so important for achieving success in fitness or any other important area of your life. My main goal is to spend more quality time with friends and family. Therefore, I put my photo tiles along my stairways because I’ll see them every day.
Put your photo tiles in places that you will see every day. Your eyes register the images but more importantly, your subconscious mind will pick up on the meanings behind the images. Your life will start to manifest itself towards achieving goals that will bring you what you want. To accelerate this effect, make sure that your map is in a high traffic area. The year 2020 will be the year you accomplish all your goals.
